 | 07:43 pm - catching up.. i found a new studio space this month, it close to the strip and china town which is very different compared to where i lived before.
ive been longing to move my studio and unexpectedly found this place.. its big and unbelivably affordable ! the three-way lighting is the main reason i choose it. i will have to move again in one year, (big move) so i dont have plans to get completely settled in.

the downside is the neighborhood.. its shady, shady. behind bars for now ^__^

recently..
a new batch of colors for works in upcoming group exhibits.

ive been in mood for romantic and warm. i am suprised how unique some of the pigment mixtures turned out.. refreshing to work w/ a new pallate.
a new piece in progress, about half finished.. a result of the new color batch...

all the series will be divied into two group exhibits this yr (about 10 small pieces total) & will be framed in various sized cutey floral frames..hand antiqued (by yours truly). i like lighter frames on the works but these will not be white white- more of a naturally light patina.
 not finished, but very close..
Current Location: studio Current Mood: cheerful

I love the new palette! And I love the frames! For my Clovervine Slumber print I have chosen something very similar. I just love frames like that. Its lovely as always my dear :)
thank u ! i feel more encouraged now. frames are a sensitve issue sometimes..
pretty cool frames where do you get them
i found them at a frame shop in pasadena, ca - on colorado blvd. i dont think they have a website.. originally they are a gold brassy finish.
Those colors just glow!
cute doggie. ;]

ha, ha! i thought the same thing about the floors.. my landlord is japanese..i think? do you still work at that starbucks by 215? i still go there late at night once and a while.
how many will you have for the show in philly? xoxo.
probably around 5 or 6 :)
That looks so pretty! How much did the frames cost?
around $60-$120 each. thats with a discount supposedly..
Wow, I love your new palette, it looks like its going to be dinomyte. the frames are really interesting too, i think that they would compliment your style (and you theirs) perfectly. And dont even get me started on that studio space! *mines is dingy, rat infested, paint peeling, leaking room that im currently having to sleep in... obviously you work in slightly better conditions ;)
thanks!! actually my old studio was in the nicest- upscale neighboorhood around here and inside it was sort of how your discribing yours... its funny now im in the ghetto now with a pretty decent studio..weird i guess, hehe.
should just move down to SoCal =)
btw... they are getting more and more beautiful... too bad im at the bottom of the friggin list and get last dibbs =*(
i thought about that lots of times.. well see what happens.
haha sorry for wondering but do you live in California or Nevada or somewhere else haha?
nevada, las vegas. ummm, china town isnt as exciting here ? ;-)) thank goodness, haha.

Your new place looks great even if it is temporary. I also really like the new pallette. Your work is very inspiring.
I saw your show at Copro Nason, everything was really beautiful and so imaginative. Your new space looks nice...especially the light!
I'm definitely liking your warmer palette of colors in your piece. I'm looking forward to seeing more like this in the future. :) Oh, and your new studio looks huge and bright!

That looks like such a delightful place to live and work! Congrats!! All those colors (and your actual painting, of course) are also lovely.
You have a beautiful easel! And your place seems so open, airy, and well bright! Do you live with anyone else [aside from the cute pup]? If not, that's a large pad for one person, wow!
The painting and the frame are so elegant and whimsical, as always. :)
spiffy. three-way lighting pwnd all the reasons?
♥
aie, i love everything about this post! Love that frame you're working on :) and your colours, and your works, and your doggy and your studio! Even the bars on your door! Gosh, stop everything around you being so lovely, I'm starting to feel some jealousy tickling my tummy!
Wonderfiul place =) So light and with atmosphere of easiness.. Lucky you )) Palette is really nice - soft and warm, and frame is very cute :)

How the heck did you find a rental with HARDWOOD FLOORS in that area?!! (I'm guessing you're somewhere near Wynn Road or Arville) Shadiness is shadiness, but it looks like quite the sanctuary inside!
the owner/landlord upgraded this apartment for some reason. i was very suprised when i walked inside for the first time. i just hope i dont get paint everywhere.. haha
those windows are AWESOME.
Hi. I have seen your work around before and it has always caught my eye.
You are one of my favorite artists here in Vegas. Friending.

When mixing new colors do you use special or specific paints? Your primary material is acrylic, right?
I really like the look of the new colors, they give a certain warmth to your subject matter.

its all acrylics. i use differnet pigment bases some are powder and other are pastes. it depends on the color and transeprencies. for the base mediums i currently use golden and gouche mixing mediums.
